Maths Quest ยท Last updated: 25 September 2026
Maths Quest is a maths revision app that gives you five exam-style questions a day. This policy explains what we store, why, who can see it and how to delete it. We've tried to keep it short and in plain English.
The short version
- We only collect what the app needs to work: your sign-in, your course and your progress.
- No adverts, no tracking, no selling your data, ever.
- Friends only see your nickname, emoji, streak and weekly points. Never your grades, your email or your answers.
- You can delete your account and everything in it from Profile, at any time.
What we store
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your email address, or an anonymous ID if you use Sign in with Apple and hide your email | To sign you in and keep your progress safe |
| Your course: qualification, subject, tier, exam board, predicted and target grade, exam date | To pick the right questions and show your progress toward your target |
| Your answers: which question, marks awarded and when | To track which topics you've got right and which need more practice |
| Your progress: XP, streak, grade progress and topic mastery | To show your progress and keep your streak |
| If you use Friends: a nickname (up to 20 characters), an emoji, your invite code, your friends list and cheers sent | To let you and your friends see each other's streaks |
We don't collect your real name, location, contacts, photos or advertising ID. The drawings you make in the working-out panel stay on your phone and are never uploaded.
Who can see it
- You can see all of your own data in the app.
- Friends you've added can see your nickname, emoji, current streak, whether you've done today's five, and your points this week and last week. They can't see your grades, your course, your answers or your email. Only people who have your invite code can add you. You can change your code or remove a friend at any time, and a removed friend can't add you back.
- Nobody else. We don't share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
Who processes it for us
- Supabase hosts our database and handles sign-in. Your data is stored on their servers in Western Europe.
- Apple handles Sign in with Apple if you choose it.
- jsDelivr may be used to load the maths formatting code if it's missing from the app. This only shares your device's internet address, the same as loading any web page.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as you have an account. If you delete your account, everything is deleted straight away, including your answers, progress, friends and cheers. It can't be recovered.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to see, correct, download or delete your data. The quickest way to delete everything is Profile > Delete account. For anything else, email us at [contact email] and we'll reply within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Young people
Maths Quest is made for GCSE and A-level students, so we've designed it with the UK Children's Code in mind: we collect as little as possible, friends are invite-only, there's no public profile or chat, and nothing is used for advertising. You need to be at least 13 to create an account.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and tell you in the app if the change matters.
